SCOTARG

With so many people in this geographical region working on computational models of argument, Nir Oren finally took the initiative to do what so many of us had been threatening to do: namely, to run a workshop meeting. So, the first meeting of what we hope will be an enthusiastic schedule of collaboration is being held today, and the whole ARG:dundee group is heading up to Aberdeen. Argument Blogging

Here is a short film [ Download: xvid avi format (26.2MB) ] of Colin Gourlay talking about his honours project at the School of Computing 09 degree show. Colin has been working in the ARG group on the argument blogging project which captures argumentative dialogues that occur online and records them using the Argument Interchange Format. Simon will be presenting a paper describing some of the work on this project during CMNA 9 at IJCAI in July.

ARGMAS 2007

The Fourth International Workshop on Argumentation in Multi-Agent Systems (ArgMAS 2007) will be held in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, May 14-15, 2007 in Conjunction with AAMAS 2007. The deadline for submission’s is 5th February 2007.

COMMA 2006

The first International Conference on Computational Models of Argument is to be held in Liverpool in September 2006. Chris Reed sits on the programme committee, and the Dundee group has had several papers accepted.

CMNA 2006

CMNA workshop series: The 6th International Workshop on Computational Models of Natural Argument, CMNA 6 is to be held at ECAI 2006 in Trento in August. CMNA 7 will be running at IJCAI in Hyderabad in January 2007.

ISSA 2006

We have had several papers accepted to the 6th International Conference on Argumentation, a conference series held in Amsterdam once every four years. Araucaria 3.1 was released at the event.
